We continue to expand with two new clinics
Miranza in the North and the Levante
The Ophthalmological Institute Palomares in Benidorm and the Ókular Clinic in Vitoria strengthen the presence of our ophthalmology group in Spain.
We continue our expansion in Spain by incorporating two new Miranza clinics in Vitoria-Gasteiz and Benidorm, which have been part of the group – established in 2019 – since September. Thus, we strengthen our presence in the Basque Country and Alicante, where we already have the Miranza Begitek and Vissum Grupo Miranza clinics, respectively.
New Miranza clinic in Benidorm
In Benidorm, the Ophthalmological Institute Palomares, now Miranza Clínica Palomares, joins the project, which also features an outpatient centre in Altea, both under the medical direction of Dr. Juan M. Palomares. With over 30 years of experience and 50,000 patients treated, the clinic is considered one of the leading ophthalmological centres in the area.
This clinic strengthens our presence in the province of Alicante, where we already have Vissum Grupo Miranza, which, under the leadership of Dr. Jorge Alió, is one of the company’s flagships, along with IMO Grupo Miranza in Barcelona. The Vissum Grupo Miranza team and Miranza Clínica Palomares teams will work closely together to provide greater coverage for patients in the area, according to the common standards of excellence that characterize the group.
Consolidation in the Basque Country
We have also added the Ókular centre (now Miranza Ókular) to our clinic portfolio, whose founder and medical director, Dr. Jaime Aramberri, is a renowned member of the Miranza Begitek team in Donostia. Thus, we are taking another step forward in the Basque Country, while promoting collaboration between both centres.
According to Ramón Berra, the group’s general manager, “in a changing environment like the current one, our firm commitment to expansion is a challenge that we are sure to overcome successfully and that will bring us good results, thanks to the involvement, prestige, and talent not only of our medical team, with 80% of the specialists leading Spanish ophthalmology, but also of all the professionals who make up this great project.”
The integration of the new Miranza clinics shows our commitment to reaching the greatest number of locations in Spain, hence fulfilling our mission of “making ophthalmological excellence accessible to the greatest number of people.”
With these new acquisitions, we are now present in more than a dozen cities in Spain, making up a network of 14 clinics and 12 outpatient centres with high-quality standards and the most renowned medical teams in the specialty, who share their knowledge, experience, and technology, as a basis to achieve leadership and excellence in healthcare.
