New doctors join the team of ophthalmologists of IMO Grupo Miranza Madrid
Instituto de Microcirugía Ocular (IMO) is one of our leading centres and has recently opened a new office in Madrid. The opening reflects the consolidation of its model of specialist eye care and the expansion of its personnel in areas in which it is now a leading name in Spain and abroad.
We invite you to discover the new ophthalmologists at IMO Grupo Miranza Madrid. The new staff include prestigious professionals such as Dr José María Ruiz Moreno, who specialises in retinal disorders, and Dr Marco Sales, an expert in oculoplastic surgery and oculofacial aesthetics.
Leaders in management of retinal diseases
Dr José María Ruiz Moreno is a member of Miranza’s joint medical management and chairman of the group’s training committee. An ophthalmology professor at the University of Castilla–La Mancha (UCLM), he works in healthcare at the new office in Madrid and at Vissum Grupo Miranza in Alicante, as well as in teaching and research. His main areas of interest are pathological myopia, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic macular oedema and imaging diagnosis of retinal diseases.
Putting his experience to use in these areas, he collaborates with other pioneering retina experts in Spain, such as Dr Borja Corcóstegui, Dr José García-Arumí and Dr Carlos Mateo, who have worked at IMO Barcelona for over 30 years and are now available for consultation at our new clinic in Madrid.
Focus on oculoplastic surgery and oculofacial aesthetics
Dr Marco Sales joins Dr Ramón Medel in oculoplastic surgery and oculofacial aesthetics, the latter having promoted this speciality at IMO Barcelona for the last 25 years. Together, they will continue providing our patients with the best practices and latest techniques. Both are among the few expert ophthalmologists in Spain specialising in complex orbital surgery.
Dr Sales received training in orbital-cranial-facial surgery at centres in Spain and abroad, and he is the current vice chairman of the Spanish Society of Oculoplastic and Orbital Surgery. He also focuses his efforts on cosmetic eye surgery, especially blepharoplasty, using highly refined techniques to achieve optimal results and minimal risk of complications.
Along with Dr Sales and Dr Ruiz Moreno, other doctors have joined the project to bolster the group’s ophthalmic areas. Together with the specialists from IMO Barcelona, they comprise a team of 20 ophthalmologists who are at your service at the new clinic in Mirasierra.
